My life has been changed by music.
It's safe to say that I would not be the same person I am today without music in my life. I got my first real experience with music in 6th grade when I started learning the trumpet. I immediately fell in love and started working on improving my music. Another major change happened in 8th grade when I switched to French Horn. I kept playing both all throughout school. I joined more groups and got lessons for my instruments, becoming very well-versed in classical music and became a successful instrumentalist.
About halfway through my senior year of High school, I got my first real exposure to electronic music from a friend. I grew to love that genre of music, especially the sound design aspect. The way that synthesizers worked was fascinating to me, and I downloaded FL studio to get my start on electronic music.
When I was attending Southern Utah University, I took a class about contemporary music and learned about new music composers like John Cage, Steve Reich, and Philip Glass. I loved the minimalistic style and interesting concepts of these great composers' music, and wanted to contribute to the ever growing art of music.
I started composing for concert band and wind symphony in my second year at Southern Utah University, finding a love for wind symphony music only rivaled by my love for electronic music. I composed my very first wind symphony piece at this time, and released it with the title, "Venture Undertaken" for sale shortly after.
I decided it was time to shake up the music scene. I would start releasing electronic music with advanced music theory concepts, while also releasing wind symphony music featuring modern instruments and synthesized sound. I wanted to stake my claim in new and interesting forms of music, and my sound was heavily inspired by all of the ways that music has inspired me.
